Game Recap

With both Grossmont and Valhalla hyped up for the biggest game of the year so far, they both delivered a very exciting game. Valhalla jumped to an early lead, but Grossmont fought back to a 3-2 first quarter score. 2nd quarter belonged all belonged to Valhalla as they outscore Grossmont 5-1 in the quarter to make it 8-3 at the half. 3rd quarter belonged to Grossmont as they again fought back and won the quarter 4-2. With the score 10-7 going into the fourth, it was a battle in the pool back and forth all quarter. At the end of the game Valhalla came out ahead 13-9. That puts Valhalla in the drivers seat going into the second half of league with a 4-0 record, Grossmont at 3-1. Woody Kueber, Andrew Higginson and Eric Nordquist had outstanding games, the 3 of them scored 12 of the 13 goals. But it was Jake Pyjar’s stellar play in the defensive zone that won him player of the game, as he played a great game against Grossmont 2m players.
