Valhalla Varsity Volleyball lost in an intense five games tonight to El Capitan Varsity Volleyball. Valhalla came out of the gate very strong, and was leading 18-10, but could not hold off El Capitan’s charge losing 24-26. Set two was more of the same with Valhalla losing 28-30 in a long battle. Valhalla showed how well they can play in sets three and four winning both easily 25-18, and 25-9. The fifth set was a back and forth battle with El Capitan making a few less errors and coming away with the victory. Valhalla was led in kills by Hailey Wilson with 18 and Angie Orange with 8; Assist leader with Max Ray with 41, Digs leaders were Ellie Valdez and Zoie Lopez with 23 and 18 respectively. Rachel Shoemaker chipped in with 3 Aces and Mackenzie Childs had 9 Blocks to lead Valhalla. Next up for Valhalla Volleyball is a home match vs Helix High School. The Freshmen and JV will play at 4 PM and the Varsity will follow around 5:30 PM. Followed by a tournament this weekend on Friday and Saturday.
Valhalla will play at Canyon Crest Academy on Friday. Hope to see you at the gym!
