Mercer Island from Washington state came down to visit the south for the San Diego Open, and ran up against a hot norsemen team after their 1st round loss to Sagerstrom. The Norsemen and Mercer Isle battled in the first 1/2 with the Norsemen holding on to a 6-4 lead at 1/2 time. Second 1/2 was all Norsemen with a 3-1 3rd period, and 2-0 4th period to end up with a 11-5 victory. Highlights of the game were Romero, O’Carroll, Nordquist, and Pyjar all with one goal, Higginson with 3, and Kueber with 4. 5 different team members put up nice assists, and the Norsemen were quite the thieves in this game stealing the ball 20 times from Mercer Isle.
