Game Recap

Semi final game of the San Diego Open pitted the Norsemen against Alta Loma, an unknown team from out of the area. The Norsemen jumped on the Braves fast and early to a 5-1 1st quarter game. Some mistakes on the Norsemen allowed the Braves to get back into the game outscoring the Norsemen 4-1 in the second quarter. Score at 1/2 was 6-5 Norsemen ahead. A balanced 2-2 3rd quarter left the Norsemen clinging to a 1 goal lead. But the Norsemen again jumped all over the Braves out scoring them in the 4th 3-1 for an 11-8 victory. The mighty Norsemen have now qualified for the finals of the San Diego Open. Game standouts were Kueber, Stockwell,with a goal each, Ramey, and Nordquist with 2, and Higginson with 5. O’Carroll again proved his worth throwing up 3 great passes giving him 3 assists. Stockwell was also impressive with his passing garnering 2 assists. It was Ben Sange in cage making 9 important saves that earned him “Player of the Game” status. Next up the Championship game of the San Diego Open vs. the Grossmont Foothillers. An all east county championship game.
