Game Recap

After last nights win over Granite Hills the Norsemen earned a spot in the top 8 of the Varsity San Diego Open. Only to earn the first game at 8 in the morning against the top ranked Titans. Poway ranked first in the tournament, cam out hard and fast outscoring the Norsemen 2-1 in the first quarter. 2nd quarter was all ours as we scored 4 to the Titans 2. 3rd quarter was all us again as we dominated the quarter going up 8-5 at the end of the 3rd. 4th period saw a lot of action by both teams, with each team scoring 3 goals, but it was enough for the Titans as the Norsemen secured a spot in the top 4 of the tournament with the 11-8 win over Poway. Game standouts were spread all over the place as this was a total team effort. Romeo, Nordquist, Pyjar each with a goal, Kueber with 2, and Higginson with 6. It was the effort of Romero, O’Carroll, Kueber, Stockwell, Nordquist, and Higginson on defense that swayed the balance of the game in our favor. These guys teamed up for an impressive 22 steals in the game. However it was the incredible work of Trenton Romero in the guard position that earned him “player of the game” status with 11 steals.
