Game Recap

The Norsemen struggled early in this game, going down 3-0 early in the quarter. Salvaged a bit of a come back to 3-2 before struggling again and down 7-4 at half. Came alive in the 3rd quarter jumping on the Centurions fast and furious scoring 7 goals to UC’s 4. With the score at 11-11 end of the 3rd it looked like anybody’s game as there was very little defense from either team. The Norsemen wore down the Centurions in the 4th with players coming in and out of the game being fresh, and UC did not have much of a bench so the Norsemen controlled the 4th 5-2 for an exciting 16-13 victory.Another great team effort by the Norsemen as 8 different players scored, and 7 players in the assist column. Stand out players were Kueber, Ramey, Pyjar, French each with a goal, Romero, Stockwell with 2, Nordquist with 3, and Higginson with 5. O’Carroll and Pyjar each with 3 assists. Sange with 9 crucial saves in the game. Even though the Norsemen defense was not up to their standards. J.D. Stockwell was incredible on defense, shutting down UC’s top player. In addition to his great defense, JD helped turned the tide for the Norsemen with 2 goals, and an assist early in the 3rd period, and was named Player of the game. Great team effort in the second 1/2 brought the Norsemen from a big deficit, to win the game. Great job by all players.
