Even though our varsity boys lost tonights game, it was a great night. A sad, but honorable goodbye to our seniors Brady Ruffer, Josh Minter, Erik Nordquist. A last home game goodbye from myself after 35 years of coaching. A very nice, and unexpected farewell from Matt Nordquist, Erik’s father, and Mike Nalu, one of my former players from 1985-1989. A very emotional night for me.
Onto the game, it was a great contest between two closely matched teams. Our boys fell behind early, and did everything they could to catch up, but could only get to within 1 goal several times during the night. A lot of standouts tonight. Russo with a goal, and a steal. Nordquist with a pair of goals, and 5m drawn. Peckham with 3 assists. Brikho with 4 goals, an assist and 3 steals. Voth with a goal, ejection drawn, and 5 steals. Munch with 4 saves and an assist, and Sange with 5 saves included a penalty shot, and another point blank save. Player of the game is Grant Peters with 3 goals, an assist, and an ejection drawn. Season is over now, our boys finished 3rd in league, and now its off to CIF playoffs. Were looking great and working for a fine run in CIF.
