Valhalla Norsemen Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-6 loss to Santana on Friday. Santana scored on a single by Lakaila Aquiningoc-David in the first inning, a single by MacKenzie Sims in the first inning, a walk by Gilliane Johnston in the first inning, and a single by Sims in the second inning.
Valhalla Norsemen Varsity collected nine hits and Santana had 16 in the high-scoring affair.
Santana scored five runs in the fourth inning. Ashley Madrigal, Johnston, Nicole Penton March, and Aquiningoc-David each had RBIs in the frame.
Emmelee Leggett led things off on the rubber for Santana. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and four runs while walking one.
Delaney Stettler was on the rubber for Valhalla Norsemen Varsity. She surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Maryn Jordan threw two and a third innings in relief.
Valhalla Norsemen Varsity racked up nine hits on the day. Jordan, Samantha Green, and Kelly Olson each managed multiple hits for Valhalla Norsemen Varsity. Olson, Green, and Jordan each collected two hits to lead Valhalla Norsemen Varsity.
